Resource: Recent Conference Board Report:

As you learned in the Columbia Coaching Program, conext matters! The Conference Board, I think tank headquarted here in NYC, USA is a useful soruce for relevant data and resource on a vast array of organizational topics. I've attached their recent report, entitled "From Immediate Responses to Planning for the Reimagined Workplace: Human Capital Responses to COVID-19," which is full of data on: (a) various organizatinal responses to COVID-19 (mainly "immediate responses) and (b) importantly exploring various ways organizations are thinking about the future. This piece helped me reframe the current context from "going back to normal" (which I don't think will happen) to co-creating the future of work, and supporting organizations, and their leaders, in making this transition (for some) and transformation (for others) - I think coaching has a role for both!

  • I heard a discussion in one of the break-out room focused on ideas for convincing clients to source coaching in these challenging times - check out this article published in the WSJ about CEOs calling coaches!

As Marshall Goldsmith said during the "Thinkers 50 Top Global Coaching" event in November 2019, the way to get our services used as coaches to, in his words, "Become More Famious!" His comment caused me to pause when I first heard it, because I became aware of my "gut" reaction - yet I get his point, being a great coach is not enough, the market has to know we are great coaches - so I've been thinking a lot these days about how we, members of the Columbia Coaching Community, can collectively can build a powerful brand in the coaching space!
