Virtual Connection Spaces for Columbia Coaching Certification Program Learning Community| Call-for-Co-Hosts!

Columbia Coaching Learning Community,

Our "Virtual Connection Spaces" (VCS) series continues to be a vechicle for Columbia Coaching Certificatino Program (3CP) alums and friends of the program, to share, learn, and grow together. Since hosting the launch on April 10, we have completed a total of 14 VCS sessions and starting with the 2nd, all sessions have been Co-Hosted and lead by a 3CP alum. The cycle has been 2 sessions per mouth and we have sessions confirmed through November.

This series will continue as long as program alums, and members of the broader community are willing to  share their knowledge and experience by co-hosting a session. We you are interested in doing so, indicate by either "commenting" to this discussion thread below and/or by sending me an email (Maltbia@tc.columbia.edu) - replying to this post first would be better. If you have recached out me (already) and I have not gotten back to you, your message has most likely gotten lost in the "black box" that is my email inbox. So, please do try again via this post.

I've learned a lot from co-hosting these sessions and doing so, as only confirmed the talent and caliber of our global, learning community. Look forward to hearing from many of you for future sessions!

Regards,

Maltbia

  • Hi Terry,

Will it be interesting for our community if I bring a topic Burn Out in Coaches. After a nervous breakdown and multiple anxiety attacks, that I've fortunately overcome, I see this topic as potentially helpful for other coaches. I could cover 1) early signs of burnout; 2) why it happens; 3) what to do (solutions, action commitments). What do you think?

    Thank you for your consideration.

    Warmly,

Maria Wade (Dvurechenskaya), Cohort 21 (2019)

  • Hey there, Terry, would love to lead a session! A couple of topics immediately come to mind:

    1) Coaching During COVID: The "reality shock" to internal and external coaching relationship when seismic trauma hits.

    2) How Leaders Communicate, Coaching or Training: The ongoing debate if needed communication skills can be trained or must be coached.

Thanks! Mark Schumann (Cohort of Winter 2017

  • I'd love to try my hand at cohosting around the topic "coaching for equity."
