Ryder S. Wyatt is a writer for more than three decades in journalism, marketing, and essay and memoir. She holds a BA in Communications with a concentration in creative writing and journalism, a degree in Executive Coaching from Columbia University’s Teacher’s College, and MFA in Creative Nonfiction from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. For five years after graduating from Columbia's Coaching Program, Ryder successfully helped women rethink their careers to find significantly more rewarding work. Since then, she went back to non-fiction freelance writing, and has held associate editorships with Brevity: A Concise Journal of Literary Nonfiction, and Tiferet Journal, as well as being an Interview Columnist for Proximity Magazine’s TRUE blog. She is a core committee member of the Nantucket Book Festival in Nantucket, Massachusetts, since its inception in 2011. Ryder also founded and directs of The Cedar Ridge Writer’s Series, a one-day series of nonfiction workshops featuring guest writers and instructors, held at her home named Cedar Ridge Farm and on Zoom. She coaches and mentors writers of all levels. Her daughter, Lizzie, is the 5th generation to live on her family’s homestead, once a thriving 300-acre working Black Angus farm previously owned by her grandparents and father—the subject of her memoir in progress.
